Simple web design for a simple budget, why complicate things?

Ok, so this sounds daft given some of my Etsy listings are photographic in nature but... I have trouble taking photos of my products! There, I've said it! I don't know what it is but I just can't seem to capture their special nature in photographic form :-/ It's something I've been very concious of and I'm now trying to make a special effort to increase their quality.

I think one of the biggest problems I've suffered from, and don't laugh at this, is the weather! Etsy itself recommends that you use a well lit area for product photos and preferably place them in natural light, this has been somewhat of a challenge of late! For example, yesterday I had a spare half hour so I thought, seeing as it was a nice day, I'd spend some time outside re-taking photos. Yup, that was fun! Every time I went to take the photo after carefully placing my subject in it's desired location the sun disappeared leaving a dull overcast feel and certainly not producing the enticing end results I was after.

Anyways after much chasing about and a little bit of patience (and, I'll admit it, some cursing!) I did finally get a few of the photos I was after. When processing them and uploading them to Etsy I tried to interfere as little as possible with what came from the camera, no colour tweaks, blemish control, fancy borders or filters, what you see is what you get. It's a fairly new approach for me and, I'm hoping, it will generate some sales. You can see the finished results here, I'd love to know your thoughts and if you have any tips on improving things :-)
