If you're looking at this page I expect you're trying to figure out who I am? Hi! I'm Amy. I'm an experienced IT Specialist working in a busy department within the education industry whilst also freelancing as a social media manager/content creator.
My strengths lie in content creation although I have a large technical background in PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript. My day to day job involves managing content and marketing for a secondary school: Designing, building and running the school's website; creating marketing materials to include anything from booklets, fliers, poster to branded water bottles and uniform; procuring and managing the behaviour systems and data gathering software; creating promotional and informational video's, graphics, literature; and supporting and training staff in the use of systems such as Office 365.
My current projects include extensive work with Microsoft Teams, Adobe Premiere Pro, Illustrator and InDesign as well as various other Adobe and Office 365 applications. I have also been undertaking a lot of work producing, filming and editing promotional and informational videos
Away from my primary employment, I have been freelancing for a number of years. Initially I undertook web design and building work, with a solid understanding of these technologies. More recently I have been focusing on graphic design and visual marketing. My most recent projects include work for a local allotment association, a local environmental and community group and an ongoing relationship with The Malcolm Whales Foundation.
My qualifications include a BSC (Hons) Degree in Information Technology and Computing from the Open University. I also have A Level's in English, Drama and General Studies. I find my English qualification is particularly useful in many areas of my working life and spend a great deal of time writing copy for a range of different outlets.
Outside of work, I'm a mum of two children and a wife. I enjoy cooking, gardening and photography along with music and crafting. I am at my happiest when I'm being creative and I think this largely drives the work I undertake.
I hope, and do believe, my employers and colleagues would describe me as hard working with a strong work ethic and drive for perfection (although with time I have learnt that you also need to know when to stop!) I like to believe I am a fairly calm individual and also a problem solver; whilst I might not know everything I strongly believe I can learn given enough time and can remove obstacles with this knowledge!
